Street portraits

Opportunistic portraits in John's adopted town of Cheltenham establish an insight into the nature of the town through its people. Whilst some of the portraits are candid street shots, all involve a greater degree of personal contact with the subjects than a typical candid street capture. Shot mainly on monochrome film in 35mm and medium format, John scratches below the outer layer and exposes the humanity of the subject. Already a substantial body of work, this is an ongoing project.
